My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over a year, we've been living together for about the same amount of time. Things happened, long story. Anyway, over Christmas he took me to CA to meet his family and friends and we are constantly together. Sometimes he talks about us being old and he asks me about how I'd feel if he'd re-enlist, chose a different career, etc. He had a dream lately, that we were in a foreign country on vacation and I said something about "girlfriend. He said, "well actually, yeah.. girlfriend." I think he thinks about it but isn't ready to admit it or make that step, he's in his mid twenties. what do you think?

He says it sometimes, like it'll slip I guess. He'll say, "you need to be strong.. i dont want my wife always relying on me." and stuff like that.. he's very career oriented and he talks about how I'm the woman of his dreams etc, so I think he's just waiting to get where he wants to be.. i am too.

Yeah, he's thinking about it. He probably doesn't know if you're ready for that step though, and is afraid of rejection.

Tell him "I had this dream that we went to the Bahamas (or insert your favorite place) on our honeymoon... " Pause and wait for a reaction. If he looks nervous, laugh and say "Isn't that weird?" If he smiles and looks like it's a good idea smile back and say "Wow, wouldn't that be nice?"

See what happens...

Edit: asking a guy about marriage, or discussing it before hand like you would talk about what restaurant to eat at can ruin the most romantic moment of your entire life. The once in a life time out of the blue, suprise, "Will you marry me" moment.

Please don't ruin it. PLEASE??? If you want to speed things up, tell a mutual friend that you'd love to get married some day, if only your beloved boyfriend would ask you... It'll reach him, and allow him the honor of planning how to ask. If you think money or a big wedding is putting him off, tell the mutual friend how you've always dreamed of just eloping. BE CREATIVE.

The answer to your question is simple. If he was interested and ready, you would know. He would talk openly to you about it and you would have a ring on your finger. You are getting close to the end of your rope. A guy knows pretty early on whether a girl falls into the freak, friend or forever file. So, if he doesn't make a decision soon, it's time to get walking.

Do you really need someone to draw you a picture, color it, frame it, and hang it on the wall and make you stare it until you "get it"...?

Yes he's thinking seriously about you, it couldn't be anymore obvious.

His dream was a lame-as(s way of saying you won't be getting married anytime soon. Sounds like mama or papa didn't like you so much.
