Any of these symptoms? If not, could be generalized anxiety disorder.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/cognitive_b... worked best for me. I suffered from social anxiety for over 15 years. I've tried meds, individual therapy, and group therapy and studied psychology for 10 years, as a profession, but also with the hope to cure myself.
Depending on your comfort level, you could go to a psychologist that practices CBT and specializes in anxiety disorders, seek a group therapy, or create one. Usually those that do attend the group therapy are a bit more high functioning because as you know, it can be difficult to speak in a group.
Another idea is to see if there are any local research studies being conducted that you could participate in.
The program that finally worked the best for me is this one: http://www.socialanxiety.us/findinghelp.... and I was lucky enough to have a structured behavioral group to go along with it. Sometimes the people that actually attend this program come back home and form groups.
Any questions, let me know ... I can't tell you how much this has improved my life!

I would go to the free counseling that is available in school from anyone who desires it, or there are other services like Catholic Charities or the Boys and Girls Clubs where you can get free services. If you talk to your parents about it, they may have counseling available through their insurance or through confidential referral services that many business offer their employees. Churches offer free counseling too.
You may also want to go to your doctor and make sure nothing physical is causing this. Certain times panic attacks can feel like heart attacks and be very painful.
A word of caution, I would be very hesitant about using drugs for anything like this, they cause a lot of problems and I would really read up on all side effects before I would do anything. The doctors and drug companies wont tell you all this.
There are lots of other ways to deal with panic attacks. Yoga and pilates work well to reduce stress. No caffeine, including sodas !!!
Also try exercise, it raises the natural endorphins in your body while relieving stress at the same time. Jogging and walking are good exercises or biking, horseback riding, tae bo.

I have read some litterature about panic attacks. But they allways seem to have a more scientific approach and that is nothing I need in my struggle to survive those horrible panic attacks. This is a "hand on" and very practical book. I felt it was written to me. I am sure that you are going to feel the same.
Joe Barry writes exactly how I think. The examples are perfectly described. And the method is genius. I recommend this book and thanks Joe Barry for writing it. It changes your life
