No.

Marriage is a covenant made between a man and a woman, a declaration if you will, to love one another for the rest of their lives together.

Marriage IS NOT legal prostitution. The differences are so vast. For instance, prostitution is to get paid to gratify a man's sexual desires. No committment except when paid, to perform what the man wants. Marriage, is a committment of far more than sex. Sex is just the icing on the cake. It is a relationship with the person that is to be your best friend. For life. There is being there for each other every day and night. Loving the spouse, caring about all the in's and out's of the spouse. That is my opinion.

No, it was a joke, not a serious statement. It wasn't a philosopher who said it but by playwrite George Benard Shaw when he was being a big of a smart a**.

Shaw asked a countess if she would she would marry him if he had $100 Million pounds. The Countess said yes she would. Then Shaw asked if she would sleep with him for $1,000 pounds. She said "No, of course not, what do you think I am a prostitute?"

Shaw said, "I've already established what you are Ma'am, I was just trying to find out the price."

everybody who gets married for funds is lacking out on an exceedingly helpful courting with yet another person. I incredibly have been in a courting have been funds could no longer have mattered slightly, and we've been constantly able to maintain one yet another chuffed and make one yet another smile. funds makes issues extra trouble-free, and the better the quantity, there actual maximum possibly would be much less fights approximately it. additionally, basically because of the fact human beings marry for reasons different than love would not propose that everybody does. i'd guess that of the marriages that paintings, maximum folk have been for honest reasons, no longer because of the fact of money or something different than 2 those that love one yet another and prefer to be mutually.

Believe me, sex is the minor aspect of marriage. Being on "the same page" and moving forward to build a home are the things that will either make it work or make it dissolve. Sex is great, but it ultimately is not the rudder for a marriage.

not true, prostitution is defined by the dictionary to be the act of engaging in promiscuous sexual acts for money. in order for this to be a true argument than illegal prostitution would have to be basically the same as marriage and it is not. prostitution is going out and selling your body as a sex toy for anyone willing to pay money or goods/services to use said body as their sex toy for agreed upon time. marriage ( the sex portion of it anyway, note that there is much more to marriage than just the sex portion) is about giving your self to the one who you love and to no other. it is not for money or goods or any other reason that you love that person( or at leased that is how it should be). so there is a big difference between selling your self to many people and, giving your self to one in marriage.

I thought it was a feminist writer, I can't remember her name. To go on to the question, If that's all your relationship is based on, then probably so. However, most marriages I know of consist of a very deep and personal emotional bond (love versus lust). The give and take is from consideration and caring, not as a quid pro quo.

Some cynical perspective on love...

However, in some places it is still a business arrangement... Same places people wash with water to prevent AIDs.

One can only guess what such an individual would believe today...

haha
many would say no.
its morally wrong of course, but maybe many people might like that, like the mormans or men/women who is crazed for sex and men/women who wants money for themselves...
in my opinion, i say no, cuz i think its hella stupid to be married and get paid for sex. it's like u go to work and make money and come back and PAY your wife to have sex.
I think it would be awkward when u and ur partner doing some business in the bedroom, and later get out a wallet to give money to your partner...

i don't agree because in marriage, there are obligations that the husband and wife have to carry out for each other. not really in a prostitution.
