Okay. This question is most common even with myself. I learnt that you should just try and become closer friends with the guy and once you're closer maybe go catch a movie and hang out. Becoming closer might be able to help you see if there is anything there between you guys. Remember not to think negatively because then you'll go down hill.

look for signs... like him smiling at you, staring at you at random times, trying to hold your gaze when you talk to him(if you know the guy and hang around him a little)
if not... make sure he knows about you... and make sure you know more about him... other than that more info on the situation would help :P

you should try talking to him more and ask him if he wants to hang out sometime or just try geting to know him better and mabey he'll come to u?
