I got a 4 month old kitten, that was about 3.5 pounds. At first I thought it was a birman, since she's a seal point, with white socks, and a siky coat. ( but she does have a white chin)But other people suggest she's a ragdoll. I looked online and can't figure out what she is. Right now she looks like a perfect birman except the white chin. She follows me everywhere and goes limp when you pick her up, really quite and calm, I got her for free from the dog pound, someone turned her in and wrote her breed down as kitten

I thought of snowshoe and went into google and did a search. There are hundreds of links that pertain to snowshoe cats. The link below will show you a few pictures of snowshoe cats. I am pretty sure that is what kind of cat you have. But, you be the judge and look at the pic's. Hope this helps!

I have a ragdoll cat and what you have is definitely a ragdoll. There is no other breed that goes really limp when you pick them up!

My ragdoll cat is a sealpoint with white socks (that's called "mitted") and she is white under the chin. She also has a white blaze on her nose but not all ragdolls have that. You are very fortunate to have this kind of cat - she will make a wonderful friend and companion for you.

sounds like a ragdoll :) while you may never have COMPLETE confirmation since it didn't come from a breeder, you can still search and try to figure it out :) I actually have 2 ragdolls - and both came from the pound. and yes, I KNOW they're ragdolls b/c a breeder took them to be put to sleep b/c they sneezed too much!! they're wonderful-they follow me around unlike any cat I've ever seen - they're so loving- love to be petted, sit in my lap, and yes, they really do go limp when you pick them up :) It's great! there are tons of pics on the internet, and some books on "Rare Cat Breeds" with good pics and descriptions to help you decide what you have :) Hope this helps! whatever it is - sounds like a wonderful new addition :)

You have a lovely little kitten child and she is not any particular breed, just a mixture of characteristics that many cats have. Unless you get a kitten from a breeder they are not a specific breed.

The "going limp" is the best clue that she may be a Ragdoll. However, she may not be a purebreed.

Unless you care what kind of kitty you've got, you probably won't know if you don't ask. You've got a new member of the family, and that should be enough. Good luck and congrats on the newest addition.
