Actually, since April 15, the usual deadline is a Sunday, the deadline is pushed back to Monday - but since Monday 4/16 is a holiday in DC, it's pushed back yet another day, to Tuesday April 17, this year.
Some of the instruction booklets were printed before anyone involved realized that the 16th was a holiday, so some of them still say 4/16.

Normally, it's April 15.
This year, April 15 is a Sunday and April 16 is Emancipation Day, a legal holiday in the District of Columbia.
So this year, the deadline is April 17.

April 15th, unless it falls on a Sunday, then April 16th. It's not always the same throughout the country... if the 15th falls on Patriots Day in Mass, then residents there have an extra day, as it is an official Holiday.
Note: members of the armed forces serving overseas may have special extensions... I'm not sure of the details.

uncle sam's birthday - april 15th. that's when we all get together & send in either our money or confirm that he's already got it. nice, huh? look, some might complain but no free lunch in america (or anywhere for that matter). wanna play? gotta pay! as far as i feel, it is a small price to pay to be in the one place most people want to be (but can't).
