my underarms have gotten dark from shaving, and using cream hair removers. i decided to not remove my hair unless i had to (it's not a lot of hair) like if i were to wear sleeveless shirts or something, but the skin under it is still dark. i'm using a loofah sponge gentlely daily when i bath it seems to help a bit, but can someone think of something else that's not too expensive to light my underarms. could you please add the amount of time appx it would take?

Um okay I've used whitening deodorant for almost a year now and although they were never that dark to begin with I'm starting to see an improvement... but I don't know, my friend says its a waste of time.

So I yahoo!ed it for you, and I found this website that seems to have like, 2 at-home remedies:

Tips 1:

Take 1 tspn of Cucumber juice, 1 tspn of Limejuice and a pinch of Turmeric powder. Apply and leave for 20 minutes before washing.

Tips 2:

Apply a paste of 1 tspn of Gram flour, a pinch of Turmeric powder and 1 tspn of Sandalwood powder, some limejuice and milk. Wash after 20 minutes.

I haven't tried these but maybe they're worth tying? Or you could just get a whole body tan to comouflage your underams. (Spray tan is wiser even though it smells semi-weird because it stops skin cancer)

Some parts of our body tend to be darker than other parts and these areas are usually sites of friction like knees, elbows, underarms and so forth. Constant waxing or shaving is adding to the friction, not helping in any way. You can try lasering the hair away from your underarms. This will be a lifelong solution and you won't have to go through the constant drill of waxing or shaving. For skin lightening you could use creams containing hydroquinone/kojic acid. Natural remedies would be lemon juice or sour milk.

It might be a deeper issue than just from shaving. Go to the doctor and get checked for PCO (polycystic ovarian disease). Not saying this to alarm you. Just think that any skin or body changes should be checked by a doctor.

Please, please use a weed wacker, and a large flashlight, avoid black shoe polish and bright moon beams.
