I think it is all right as long as the people in question always hold their relationship as the priority and respect their partner's feelings on this. If a friendship starts to impact a relationship negatively then I believe it isn't right.

well Dee d it is ok for guys to have girlfriends ( coming from a guy ) but its rare that it happens for the male species becase the only way a male can have a friendship or a relationship is if they had a mutual sexual experience in the past; im not sure how it is from the female perspective, but this is how it is in the male world. Yes, there are and were females that ive had friendships with that were non-sexual, but with most, sexual contact did occur. "is it alright" is a general statement becuase from the point of view of an on-looker its it alright but if you or your parnter have jealousy then one party may look at it as not alright, it all depends on the situation and the person

I think it's ok to have friends of the opposite sex while in a relationship, and i think alot of people will agree. But your girlfirend may get jealouse when you show attention or share time with your female friends and vice versa if u know what i mean. It really never works unless u and your gf have an understanding. and even when u do there will always be some headaches along the way!!!

if common friends then it should be ok, but if not, then it can be very difficult. friend is really important, that i know, but then your gf or bf has a problem and the same time, your friend has a problem, who will you go to?! i think it is the best way to avoid all the trouble, just have a fun and not alone, should be bunch of people. if i want my partner to trust me, i think i have to show something to support. BUT it would be so different if you have a best friend for ages. your partner should understand. because they had a plenty of chance to be together but they didnt.

If you both know that there is nothing to worry about with the other. And keeping #1 feeling secure on both parts, then its ok. Too many people have made bad choices in this situation so that we all carry that baggage of insecurities with us. Good luck to you and yours.

the closest I came to this was when I was the friend of a girl who was with another guy,her BF said he understood that she has guy friends and it was cool, but she seemed to be really into me,calling me all the time, stopping by my place,(but just hang out),IMing me on yahoo alot, and when she invited me to a party of hers, her then boyfriend got all wierd and wanted to cancel the party when he found out I was coming. they broke up a few days later. So to answer the question,it guess it depends on the circumstances, mostly just how close you are to your friends of the opposite sex,and how your BF or GF feels about it.

Yes, it's completely fine, as long as you can keep them friendships and nothing more... Most of my friends are guys, and everyone I date knows that when going into a relationship with me.

Absolutely. Ive been there and it works ok as long as there no reason for the partner to get jealous. Got my drift?

Yeah, if he/she has a problem with that then they are too controlling and you need to break up with them until they can learn to get ahold of their strive for power.
