I'm currently involved with a married man of which was my highschool sweetheart. He's in an emotionally abusive relationship with a very controlling psycho, yet he hasn't even filed divorce papers. He says he loves me, doesn't want to leave when he's over and has expressed that he wants happily everafter with me when I asked him what he wants from me. He says he doesn't want to hurt anyone, of which I've replied that someone will be hurt but it's up to him to decide who. It's been about 3 months since we crossed the line of just friends into lovers. I feel he's the one and worth the wait, but just how long does one wait before giving up hope of turning a dream into reality?

I am afraid based on what you have told us that you are allowing him to have his cake and eat it too. He has the best of both worlds. He can make love to you while still having the security of his family life. If it were abusive and you were the dream of his life he would already have started divorce proceedings. By the way do you really want someone that is cheating on his wife? If he is really worth it you need to call his bluff and tell him that you will be his friend but only his friend till he is divorced and if and when he does that tell him you will be there for him but not before. Then you will find out if he is in fact your soul mate...Good Luck

A dream doesn't come out of someones nightmare. He tells you he is in an emotionally abusive relationship with a controlling psycho, yet he has no interest in divorcing her? It sounds like he is feeding you a line to keep you around. You have only been romantically involved for three months, do you really believe that your Mr. Right is a man who would turn you into "the other woman"? You really want a Mr Right who is a cheat and a philanderer?
I think you honestly need to rethink what you find right and wrong. Good luck with this. I really think you are worth more than that, but you have to believe it to get it.

Involved with a married man and thinking he's Mr. Right? Sorrryyy. A married man is not worth the wait. Why hasn't he filed for a divorce if he loves you and his wife is a psycho? If you're so wonderful and his wife isn't, why is he not in the process of a divorce, moved out? Its really not up to him. It's up to you. He's having his cake and eating it too. Why should he get a divorce? Its up to you if you're willing to wait or not. You might waste a lot of good years of your life waiting.

I'd give it up already. He's just using you for sex and he'll never actually leave his wife. He's either spinning you a story about her being psycho, or he's so co-dependent on her that he can't leave. Either way, you're not going to end up with him.

Mr Right DOESN"T cheat on his wife. And when you steal him away, he'll do the same to you in time. DUH.
