It hasn't had a whole lot of effects on humans up here in Canada, where gay marriage has been legal for a while now. Calves haven't been born with three heads, fire and brimstone hasn't fallen from the sky, and people generally go on with their lives just as they did before gay marriage was legal.
Sorry to disappoint you if you expected something dramatic.

I'll try not to give too much of a biased answer, but I will just come out and say now, that I do not condone gay marriage or homosexuality in general, and just to note on the genetic aspect, if homosexuality were genetic, it would be quite a paradox that it still exists. I think it is at least partially a choice, and partially based on ones values, as well as environmental factors.
Aside from that, one might say that population growth would slow down slightly, but probably not too much. When you think about it, gay marriage only gives homosexual couples the rights of heterosexually married couples, but it doesn't really mean that homosexuality will increase. What it means is that it will be accepted, or even condoned by the governmental entity that passes the law. People from the right will still complain, and people from the left will still complain about how the people on the right complain. Obviously gay couples will come about more often, as should be expected.
Then, there are some other issues that will be brought up, such as the concern that it will open the door for allowing polygamy, then animal-sex, etc. This is quite possible, given the trends of history, but if these even do come about, it probably will not begin to happen too quickly.
In the end, it will end up dividing the liberal and conservative ideologies even further, just like everything else does, but if/when gay marriage becomes legal, the issue will eventually pass away. At first, people will view it as a radical change, but you probably won't end up seeing as many more gay couples as you might expect. There are gay people who oppose gay marriage. Also, prejudice will not go away, and even the fear of that will cause many gay couples to reconsider. Overall, not too much will be affected.
So, that's my general prediction, I hope it helps.

The only effect it would have would be that gay couples have the same rights as straight couples, as it should be.
The laws against it are the same laws that allowed slavery some time ago.
When the people of this nation realize what a shameful disservice they have done to human beings by not legalizing gay marriage, I hope they are so embarrassed they fall to their knees and ask forgiveness from the people whose liberties and freedom they have taken. And I certainly hope the government apologizes for denying the 1st amendment.
That, or they'll take every hurricane, tsunami, car accident, four-legged duck, and crappy manicure and make it about the 'perversion' of two consenting adults loving one another.
And you're right, those answers are disgusting. Welcome kanimochisan to the club of desperate ignorance. That ANYONE could possibly believe that since gay couples cannot reproduce together they are somehow an abomination is the most sickening thing I've heard this evening. Hey, karanibai, ye who is so holier-than-thou she cannot conceive of the amount of neglected, abused, or abandoned children in this world who may be saved through adoption by homosexual couples; or that there are new methods of having children called "in vitro" and "sperm donor"; or that love and physical attraction equate with lust - I hope you have a happier afterlife because this one is going to be so rote, boring, and pleasureless you will need it. Also, to think that homosexual couples don't know the hardship of relationships because they cannot be married is a ridiculous concept.
Thank goodness I live in Massachusetts.

the *** of the"girl" gay would soon loose its muscle flexibility. thereby have no control of its bowel movements. The excretetory system would be jeopardized since all those toxin which should be let out is "pumped"back in.The overall health conditions would be in chaos.Poor people, if they only knew what the bad effects is on them.
Another thing, those who get operated, had their sex transplanted, has much of a difficult time caring for their artificial "openings", vaginas. Since it is man made, it tend to "fused" again covering the "wounds" .So when they don't have much use with their sex organ, they have to plugged some sort of phallic object inside them. It's no different with the ear lobes, once a hole is punctured, and no foreign object is in it, it closes up again.
I just wonder why whats having a vagina to receive a penis a big thing when the "girl" gay wont feel much senses or pleasure when they don't have clitoris or the nerves connected inside the canal to feel . It would be more pleasurable to have a body massage or the hair brushed.
Really, why all the fuzz? It's better to be whatever we were made. Would it be better if we eat and drink and defacate like a dog if we're humans?

Nothing much will change
- tothe person who answered God will remove his blessings.... Strange that you think so little of the God you claim to be greater than the universe. Do you think God will punish a whole nation over one harmless law that hurts no one and diminish the values of a million of other acts that are benevolent? If THAT is what God is.. petty and childish... then what different is he to the Greek gods whom God Creator Believers belittle as Nasty and Petty? ( oh... and satanic )
Has it not occured to you that ..maybe... just mayyybee... God's omnipotent mind could be bigger than the mustard seed that you make him out to be

It would not affect anybody, except those people who had been given their long-overdue rights as human beings. I know that as somebody who is straight, it would not affect me personally.

Not to mention all the hardships that straight couples have enjoyed... marriage isn't all fun and games.
Oh, and to the above poster... God does not judge by the nation (at this time.) He judges by the individual. The time for judging by the nation is coming, but I won't be around for that.
