I didn't get a Windows Media Center re-installation CD with my laptop, and I bought it brand new from Dell.

Should I have got one? My friend didnt get one either, and we have the same laptop.

I have an XP re-installation CD on my Dell desktop computer.. but none came with my laptop with media center.

I had the same issue. But the good news is - you can always create some re-store CDs for the disaster time. The catalog should've put some pages on how to create those. Otherwise just google those words--and there are many websites that have step by step instructions to create'em.
Good Luck.

they now have the restore disc pre installed on the hard drive in a different part, if you need to format, turn on co,puter and immediately start tapping f10 button and another screen will come up and load in your options to do a destructive recovery or a couple of other options, the destructive option is the one you want if you need to reformat and do a clean install. hope this helps
