i want to date but i am afraid that if i ask my parents if i can date, they will say no.
also, i am nervous about bringing this up because my parents are the typical type of indians

First of all, race or age has no bars on dating or love. A guy can start dating whenever he feels comfortable doing so and whenever he feels that he is mature enough to take care of the girl. If you're going to be childish, immature, or inappropriate around the girl, then it's probably best that you do not date because girls abhor that. Make sure you can handle the responsibility. And just because you think you can date does not mean you can have sex. Abstinence is the key until marriage. Please don't go around sleeping with girls and then abandoning them because even though the act of sex is visible in girls physically, the moral and psychological impact it will have on you will be tremendously negative.
The way to tell your parents that you have a girlfriend is to initiate and give them hints at first. Ask them how they feel about your girlfriend. Say that "Oh mom, I have this friend Anjali. She's a nice person. Wanna meet her?" and if they say "yes" then introduce her to them. But introduce her as your friend and when you feel that your parents like the girl, tell them that you have developed feelings for her.

There is no such age but u can start when u feel u can handle it. Your parents may not approve so u have to do it secretly, and maybe tell them only when u reach a final stage. A stage of no return.

in India there are less girls than boys so don't waste your time if a suitable girl says yes to you and you are able to take all kind of care of her.
also do not let your mom or dad say "bete hamare liye ek bahoo lana" as it goes in every cinema or soap opera and looks like that Indians have no other work than finding suitable dulha or dulhan and getting married.

In India there is minimum age restriction for marriage (not for unwed sexual activities), 18+ for girls and 21+ for boys.
Premarital, extramarital or unwed sexual activities are not barred / prohibited and are no offence in any Indian law.

when ever n tell them strat out the truth..i am indian girl livin in us..but my rent's feel like we live in the india..soo i tell them the truth...straight out...no round bouts...straight n forward...n be brave..u got a gf...god dont make a fool put of ur'self in front of her or not in front of her...n wht will u do when ur rents say u cant date...r u going to dump her by saying "doll, i am sry but i cant date u anymore...my rents said i cant."! u going to ssay tht??get a grip...if u want her...then tell ur rents...
