It depends on what you are using the amp for? if its for bass you want it to go low( about 30hz you really cant hear much below that its all vibration) and for your highs 20,000hz and up.

Human's can really only hear from 20hz to 20khz. Bass is typically below 200hz. Vocals fall mostly between 300 and 5k. Above 5k is mostly the sharp edge on things (tweeters)

The real question is what speakers do you have wired up. It's not so much frequency to the amp, but frequency to the speakers.

If your running subs you don't want higher freqs. getting to them as this will blow them. You also don't want low freqs. getting to your tweets either.
