There are two kinds of hallucinations associated with alcohol. The first is alcoholic hallucinosis, where the person, while they're still actively drinking, has their brain impaired sufficiently enough to lose touch with reality. The second is due to alcoholic withdrawal, either when the person has stopped suddenly or has greatly reduced their alcohol intake.
The latter is a medical emergency, in that if the person doesn't immediately go into a carefully controlled sedative regimen in a hospital setting, he may suffer seizures or even death. The former also requires urgent treatment, as it is a strong sign of alcohol-related brain damage. Such people will have a reduced intelligence, difficulty making decisions, and poor memory - all not great points of entry to a voluntary clinic.
You need to contact your local government drug & alcohol support line on his behalf and let them know about the situation, to see what involuntary options are available. I doubt that he is any position for a voluntary program to work, but if he stabilises and eventually realises that people want him to seek help, with time he may turn around. The optimal therapy would be for him to be supervised by a drug and alcohol psychiatrist.
Good luck.

No, yet prolonged alcohol dependence could reason a syndrome reminiscent of schizophrenia. Alcohol hallucinosis could properly be very reminiscent of schizophrenia. This generally occurs in the time of withdrawal and does not generally final long. yet schizophrenia maximum ordinarily starts off interior the youth as much as the later 20's. some people can advance it later. Alcohol-triggered psychoses tend to advance later, after years of heavy ingesting. even nevertheless it fairly is commonplace or spectacular that as quickly as people start to advance warning signs of schizophrenia they attempt to self-medicate with alcohol or drugs.

If a person with a severe drinking problem tries to quit suddenly, yes it can cause hallucinations, nausea, headaches, and even death. The clinic will accept and treat him, he will need to set up a payment plan if he doesn't have the cash to cover it.

Yes, rehab centers only accept volonteers because the person has to want to change, if they don't want to they won't and yes alcohol abuse can cause halucinations because it can damage your brain. These are all things to bring up to your friend and talk to him about getting into rehab.

Unless he wants help or is convinced he needs help there is nothing anyone can do.
Even if he was foced into a place he would drink as soon as he got out if he does not want to quit.
