Does black and dark brown furniture go together?

generally yes. but it depends on the style you are trying to build.

They can fit beautifully if you tie them together with an accent colour that goes with both like a burgandy, gold, etc. Also if they are sofas/chairs with different types of upholstery, mix different styles or finishes in your tables for an eclectic style to blend them.
