I don't know about opening times. But this one bar an ex used to like really seemed to be a camp for barflies to me. On one end of the bar the barstools held the assprint of the people who sat there all the time - I used to joke that maybe they had a whole set of teeth between the group of them.

The people before me might not agree, & neither may you, but I have some answers of my own.
First, there are people who don't work 9 am-5 pm - sorry, for those that think everyone works those hours.

There are some that leave work at 4 am, 5 am, 6 am, 7 am, 8 am & even 9, 10 & 11 am. And, after a 6, 7, 8, 9, 10-12 hour workday, they actually have somewhere to go besides a 24-hr diner/reastaurant (or home if they don't want). Going to a "bar" doesn't mean that you have to drink alchohol. Most places serve coffee & soda too!

There are those ones that think those tractor trailers you see on the roads just get loaded by themselves. And, those UPS people, wow! 9-5! Teamwork! What about DHL! Those guys!! And, how could I forget the Post Office! Those people sort all that mail in 8 hrs a day with 2 15 minute breaks & 1/2 hr lunch!! Incredulous!

Oh did I forget the newspaper that's delivered to your door every morning with the Headline news! (no-one puts that together?)

All I'm trying to say, is that there are places open for a reason.
People open business's to accomodate other people. It's not all bad.
Did you ever try to go & get something for someone at a local grocery store or mini-mart at 3 am? What if someone was sick?

Not trying to be mean, but look at it in the right perspective.

7AM? As a liquor store, we do not open till 9AM and that's only because we conduct operational business at 9AM. We have sales reps, suppliers and other business.

I can't imagine too many businesses opening that early. You can check out the following site for state specific legislation.

The ads give me the impression they are aimed for the party goers (I'm talking about liquor stores here, not bars)

I don’t think you should do your paper on this topic, for a reason that you won’t find that much information. Maybe you should think about why people drink , focus on the various reasons.
