Fossil fuel is used to describe fuels that we use for industrial purposes. In the natural environment it takes a very long time to be created. Think about the oil crisis. We are running out of oil because we are using it up Way faster than the Earth can produce it. That's why the term fossil, meaning old. And fuel, well you know what a fuel is.
