I wouldn't cut it myself if I were you. Short haircuts show flaws very easily so if you make a small mistake (which is bound to happen your first time), it will show and there will be little you can do to hide/fix it. It's better for you to dish out a little extra money and leave it to the professionals. It'll make the growing out period much less embarrassing.
