Koran 4:92 "it is unlawfull for a believer to kill another believer, accidents excepted. He that accidently kills a believer must free one muslim slave and pay blood-money to the family of the victim, unless they choose to give it away in alms. If the victim be a muslim from a hostile tribe, the penalty is the freeing of one muslim slave" it goes on to say that if they can't do this then they must fast for two consecutive months.

Islam came and freed the slaves by ordering to free a slave for many of the sins (just like the one you mentioned).

There are NO slaves at all in the Islamic religion, and yes, fasting takes place in such situations.

If a person is not able to fast, then he/she gives out charity instead.

Hope that helps.

Peace.

No, they dont. Slavery Now is against the law . Remember, The Quran was revealed more than 1000 years ago..to be specific more than 1428 years. At that time slavery was widespread all over the old world.from Rome to China. The Quran probably was the first at that time to free slaves and considers it as a sign of piety and a seeking forgiveness. There is great misconception about Islam and the Arab World due to negative media coverage ...and movies manufactured in Hollywood. of course the Arab world like any other world has its criminals and thugz but a smart person should choose healthy just as he/she chooses his/her own food.

No now there is no slavery anymore in muslim countries. You quoted the verse that was the story in the era of Muhammad pbuh where in jahiliyah era there were many slaves like in Ameri
ca in those days (formerly).Allah the only one God does not want slavery. So in the era of Muhammad pbuh the rich people muslims should freed their slaves. So the obligation for fasting in the 2 cosecutive months as punishment for killing the slave was not implemented anymore.

In remote parts of Afghanastan and Pakistan, the tribes there have slaves that work and clean for eat and a bunk to stay in.

Muslem fasting mean fasting during waking hours and during daytime. At night a really full meal is eaten so as to obtain strenght for the work of the next day.

actually Islam asks to free the slaves:

[11] But he has not attempted to pass on the path that is steep (i.e. the path which will lead to goodness and success).

[12] And what will make you know the path that is steep?

[13] (It is) freeing a neck (slave)

Yes, some do. Any Muslim is allowed according to their belief.

That is why I can't understand black Americans becoming Muslim. Makes no sense at all.
