yep. screw a screw into the cork and then use the nail puller side of a hammer to pull it out or a pair of pliers.
or turn the bottle upside down and hit the bottom repeatedly with a sneaker the cork should start to come out with each hit.
or go to the neighbours and borrow their corkscrew.
or use a bicycle pump with a ball needle and pierce the cork and pump the bottle open... opened many a bottle of wine these ways.
good luck

The russians used to use swords to get the neck off. For extremenly old wines in which the cork might disintegrate if opened with a corkscrew a glass cutter is used to weaken the neck before snapping it off.

There is a type of opener called a V-Break that has two thin metal blades which you slide between the cork and the inner glass, once its in just twist slowly to remove the cork.

having no corkscrew is not an excuse for a wine lover. but tne best answer for a person who dosent even have an opener is to heat the bottle over a flame till the cork pops out because of the expanding ait in the bottle.

Push the cork into the bottle. This will require a blunt, yet slender object, such as a butter knife. Push slowly so the wine doesn't splash out. This has worked for me.

Generally, though, if a bottle of wine is present without a proper opener, it was probably purchased by a near-Neanderthal and not worth drinking anyway.

getting the cork out or simply making the cork pop out will just be effective if the wine bottle is warm. Im not telling you to boil it into a hundred degrees celcius but just simply warm. If the bottle's warm then just shake it 'til the cork pops out.

I don't, I push the cork down inside the bottle. But, you can use a Hypodermic Needle (Meat Basting is the Best) and force air into the bottle to remove the cork.

Why make it hard on yourself? If you can afford to buy wine you can afford to buy at least one corkscrew. buy a $5 Waitor brand corkscrew and it works great.

Very carefully...

Seriously? Just go ask your neighbor...they'll have one...

Otherwise it could take a while, and wine tastes so much better without little chunks of cork in it...

This one will shock the hell out of people, and you have to practice it to get the knack. Fold a dish towel and place it against a solid wall. Slam the bottom of the bottle against the middle of the towel. Yes, it works. Keep your face out of the way.
