My husband is having his second interview with a company in Des Moines, IA. I'm not sure about IA, because I'm sure it's much more conservative that Chicago. But I've got a lot of questions about area, stuff to do, acceptance and real estate if anyone knows.

There are quite a few of us here. There are at least two Pagan stores and a bunch of Pagan groups in Des Moines. Not far from Des Moines is Grinnell College, which has a huge Pagan community, because the college actually advertises it in their brochures that they distribute to high schools.
From Des Moines, you would also only be about 2-3 hours from Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Omaha, etc. All of which have Pagan events throughout the year. We have had around 200 people show up for some festivals in my area.

Iowa is conservative, but I'm sure there are many pagans there.
Wherever there is a repression of a sort of mentality or belief system, it usually flourishes underground.

I don't know any Pagans in Iowa, but I know a few in Lincoln, Nebraska, which is about as backwards. They did ok... In any town of a reasonable size, there's a subculture.

indigenous peoples are Pagan so are ancient Europeans and lots of modern ones as well ,mainly from Celtic cultures .
i am Pagan as they come ,but i kow nothing about Iowa surely put the word in the browser ask for wiccans ,pagans ,covens ,witches ,satanist ,and somebody will respond i am sure

My first word will be, so sorry. They're pretty much Christian over there. My husband escaped from Iowa and swore never to come back.
