Where can I buy live quail in Victoria?

I am interested in breeding quails for my own concumption in a small backyard operation. I am having difficulty finding information on this topic in general. websites would be apreciated as well as places in Victoria (preferably near melbourne) also what is the best variety of quail for eating?

Try www.petlink.com.au or www.farmstock.com.au or the Trading Post. Most pet shops in Melbourne have quail. Depending on what area you are in. Narre Warren Pets and Produce is good. Also, try the upcoming avicultural society sales. They always have quail, and the prices are the cheapest you will find. I also know of a shop in Coburg that sells them. Can't remember the name, but it's a bird shop not far off Bell Street. There's a man I know in Heidelberg that has quail from time to time. He posts on petlink as GYMPIE from Heidelberg.

And as for best variety of quail for eating? Quail are small. The bigger the better. I think the Georgia giant is one of the bigger quails...
