He probably doesn't want to waste any of his rollover minutes. I don't even get them, but I don't talk to my wife even when we're fact to face, so I guess you could say you're in a double whammy.

Well, I'd say two things. You never know. He may be occupied seeing someone else, but Im not exactly sure, since youve been together for 5 years [thats quite admirable] and you seem to love each other very much. but, he could also be busy, or *wince* stressed out over something which he doesnt want to let you know about -- or something like that. If you think he is stressed about something, try to coax hiim to talking to you to find whats wrong and maybe you can help him get through it. Moreover, lol this happens to me too, you know. I find that if I call MY bf everyday for the past 4 days, hed bound to be pissed because I call all the time and he hates that Im clingy. Although I dont think that that is the case in this situation, but it is always a possibility that you should consider. Lastly, he may just be tired, you know? I find that if you play a little hard to get, he'll be surely coming back to you. =D In answers like these,I always hate to say the worst reasons for such situations, but honestly, all sides of situations should usually be looked at, no matter how bad it may seem. But, for now, just let him have his break from your calls, you could leave messages and tell him that you love him a lot and he'll come back. Im pretty sure it's only temporary.
Best of luck,
-Cat.

I think Jane tw is right on the mark. It is so true, that if you act like your not interested in him anymore or don't call him anymore he will be coming back around to you. Anyway you should have better things to do then to hang around calling a boyfriend that won't even pick up the phone! How rude is that!!!! I say you start doing something else with your time , like get with your friends and have fun. Because, YOU, are the important one. Think only about your self and make your self happy.

Thats odd. If you guys are going out for that long and he loves you he would pick up a phone call at least. I dont really know how your boyfriend is but it seem like he's giving you a sign that he's too busy to answer your calls. Didnt he even give you a good reason why he wouldnt pick up your calls? Well for whatever reason he should have time to talk to you on the phone or return your phone calls. Guys that avoids girls' calls often means they dont want to talk.

Back off! I've been in a long term relationship, and there's really only one thing to do. He obviously knows you're still interested in him. Try not calling him for a couple of days. A committed relationship will not survive unless both of you share the same feelings.
Giving him room will give him time to think on whether he misses you or not. It will also give you a chance to regain a little control in the relationship. Right now you're the needy/clingy partner and he obviously wants a break. Step away, and find a discreet way to let him know you still care every once in a while. (A discreet text msg after a few days saying "I love you" is fine.)

Honey, just grab your best friends go out have fun. Try to go on with your life without worrying too much about him. Join a yoga class or something fun like belly dancing, get yourself occupied and happy plus stay in good shape. The same thing happened to last me last year.He might felt suffocated by you and need some time alone, guys do have their mood swing but if he didn't call you back after you stop calling him for a week, you are not important to him anymore, just move on. You deserve better.

How can you be dating for 5 years but not want to pick up the phone when they call?? This is ridiculous, you should seriously stop letting yourself deal with this kind of a relationship. He seems controlling and flaky. You should find someone that looks forward to your phone calls, not someone that feels they need to dictate how and when communication happens.

I think that he doesn't want to pick up your phone calls because he wants to break up with you. Get a new guy. He wouldn't be the best for you because he doesn't pick up your phone calls.
