How do we know that you're telling us the truth?
Just kidding. I had the same problem as a kid. I started writing stories and I got published a couple of times. Then I used my imagination to write, only. The fact that you lie all the time means that you find reality boring. It happens to a lot of people, but if you lie about very serious matters and you hurt people by doing that, then you'd rather ask the persons who are close to you (family, friends), to pay attention to what you're saying to them, to find out whether you told the truth or not and to find a way to punish you for telling lies. It worked on me very well. I stopped doing that when I was 13 or so.

That is a nasty habit that can land you in some serious trouble. My suggestion is when you are tempted to tell a lie, stop for a second and think about what you are going to say. Why is the truth so hard to tell? Take a deep breath and just do it, tell the truth! It will be hard at first but I bet within a week or so you will be wondering why you ever felt the need to lie. That is a heavy burden to carry around, trying to remember all those lies is exhausting work.

Oh man, you sound just like my sister. She'll lie about anything. It doesn't matter what it is. The sun could be out and shinning and she'd tell you that its raining cats and dogs....for no apparent reason.
First off, think about the kinds of stuff that you are lying about. Are you lying about stuff to cover your butt in certain situations are you lying about simple everyday things? It sounds like you might need some professional help with your lying issues and get to the source of the problem.

Well do you have a really good friend you could talk to? I find usually people that you know can help you best. Think before you talk, and then just tell the truth. Force yourself to not lie, do it with small things first and gradually work your way up to big stuff.

The truth shall set you Free! I hope you get to read my response to your worry. First of all it's good that you are seeking help. I want to give you some reliable advice. Because we all were born sinners, sinning comes to all of us naturally. In the Bible it is written..." The human heart is most decietful and desperately wicked. WHo really knows how bad it is? " Jeremiah 17:9. The problem is not the lying it is our sinful nature. Because we are all sinners lying is natural to us. How can we get out of these chains? BEing addicted to something is like being a slave to it. But in the bible it is written "When we were utterly helpless, Jesus Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners." Romans 5:6. The wages of sin is death. We all die because of our sinfulness, whether it be lying, jealousy, cheating, anger, hate, envy, quarreling, etc..., we are seperated from a Holy God, who holds all things in His hands. In the bible it is written " For God so loved the world that he sent his one and only Son that whoever believes in him will not perish but will have eternal life." John 3:16. The only way to be truly set free is through faith in Christ. When you believe and accept Him as your only way of salvation you are free. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life." It is also written " If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he(God) is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 8-9. I hope this will be helpful to you. May God bless you.

how do we know your not lying now?
any way
just say
everytime i lie a cat dies because its true
if not, tell your self all the consequences of what you say.
its ok to lie sometimes but when you do it a lot it tends to have danger.
think if your parents ask you if you did your homeowrk or something, if you say yes and your lying it will hurt you and cause you to be a hobo.
or something like that

why? Do you feel threatened by anyone if the truth were told? We sometimes aren't truthful for safety reasons..if that's the case seek help....if you do it for reasons to make yourself look better to others..a different form of help should be the answer...there is nothing wrong with professional help..it doesn't make you less a person..it helps you to be the person you truly want to be...self esteem sounds low...find something you love to do and forget trying to impress others....they'll be impressed any way because you'll shine when doing things you love!

cece, that is sad for you, there must be something in your past that triggers the automatic lying thing...if you can figure out what it is, you will have your answer.....maybe the best thing to do is to talk to someone you trust and have them help you find the answers....it take courage to admit something like that and you have admitted it....you have taken the first step to solving the problem...lying is something that will lead your life down a bad path, you will not be trusted, will lose friends and familys respect, and really .......what an awful lot of work it is......good luck...hey, you told the truth tonight....

Always tell the truth. That way, you don't have to remember what you said.
