Dying Brown Hair Blonde?

Hi there. I'm a male with medium-dark brown hair, semi-fair skinned, slightly pale(hey its Wisconsin in the wintertime). I'm in a school play and our costume designer recommended I cut my hair super-short and dye it blonde. I'm not sure if I'm going to do it(dying it that is, I've been meaning to get it cut). I'd like to, its more a matter of talking to my parents into letting me(my sister had dreadlocks at one point, so I'm not that worried about it).

Basically, if I go for it, how should I go about doing it? What products should I use? How blonde(I'd like to go for a platinum blonde but that might be too much) should I go? Do blondes really have more fun? Any input is welcome.

You'll probably have to bleach your hair to get it to turn blonde. I naturally have medium-dark brown hair as well, and if you use normal blonde hair dye, your hair will just turn this wierd orange-red color first. Have a professional or somebody from beauty school bleach your hair, so you don't mess it up and look like a goof.

if you're going to cut it short, bleach the hell out of it. it's a really fun dramatic look and it works with pale skin. You will trash your hair but as a guy you probably dont care and when you get sick of it you can just cut it all off and start again. You can get professional hair bleach at chemists but you're probably better off just going to a salon and having it done properly, that way you can make sure you dont burn your scalp or make your hair just fall out. Really bright bleached hair is also a good canvas for crazy colours, like if you wanted to go blue or purple for example you'd want to bleach it first.

You should really let a professional take care of your hair color for you since they understand what they are doing. You can really mess your hair up if you try to do it yourself. Something to remember, over the counter bleaches by loreal, or whatever other brands are out there will not always take your hair completly blonde. You can end up with orange or yellow tones.

dude who the **** dyes thier hair blonde anymore? keep it brown, or if u still wanna go 4 it, make a dirty blond. They dont have more fun, they're just more stupid

definatly dont do it yourself, and dont go for bleach or platinum blonde cause it doesnt look good on anybody not born with it (well normal ppl) go for a color similar to yours or get highlights. and ALWAYS get it professionally done.
