Israel, as we know, was born out of 2ND WW as a settlement of Jews out of Europe and was carved out of the ancient land of Palestine, a many centuries old nation and culture whereas the Jews were vagabond tribe and were never a nation in the history of the mankind. Ironically, US has been protecting the tiny nascent nation of Israel for the basic reason of having a sizeable wealthy Jews population perforce migrated from Germany and other occupied countries of Europe exercising sufficient financial and political leverage on the US national politics. Irrespective and compulsive obsession, US keeps on favouring Israel in the hope that through it can tame the other Asian nations, unconcerned to the merits and ground realities simply because US thinks it is a different culture and superior one. Israel will be nemesis of US in the end, if not less.

Secondly lately Israel has helped us tremendusly, esspecially on the intellegence front.

Personally I support Israel because I am a Christian that does not renouce the Jewish beginnings of my faith. I plan to support Israel through all thier struggles because they are a people I identify with, unlike many Americans. I love America, but our government has gotten progressively worse since WWII, I think Congress is at its worst, ever, now, and I see no way back up in '08.

I don't know where Mehesh R got his info, but Israel has been a nation long before Palestine was ever heard of. The area where Israel was was called Palestine by the Romans, like we call the northeast New England. There has never been a nation or a people called Palestine.
The so-called Palestinian people of today are nothing but scum of the earth Arabs that no Arab country wanted so they made up the story of this so-called nation. Israel has been a nation, where they now are for over 3500 years, when King Solomon built the first Temple on Mount Moriah.

Communists did everything in their power, short of outlawing religion, to destroy the power of the church. They took over churches, destroyed others, converted them to churches of atheism, and outlawed the construction of new ones.
