Bacon said, "Nature to be commanded must be obeyed; and that which in comtemplation is as the cause is in operation as the rule." what is he saying?

If mankind is to have control over the forces of nature he must learn to respect them, and in looking for the reasons why nature acts as it does it is essential to understand that they are governed by a system, i.e. the laws of nature.
In other words, nature is not arbitrary and capricious, but governed by a system, which we refer to as the laws of nature. It is vital to understand this.

I wish you had given the context! However, a man who could come out with sentences like that was quite clearly not the author of Shakespeare's plays!
