What would be an appropriate place or thing to do for the lady?

Take her out to dinner...somewhere that's not loud so that you can actually hear. I wouldn't recommend a movie on a first date because that limits the time you have to talk and get to know each other. Pay for the meal. I know it's becoming more common to split the bill or whatever, but that shows that she's worth it.

1st date, go some place you know she would love. And be creative, and don't do the same old thing. (movie, dinner, and home) Surprise her with something she'll never forget. The appropriate things to do for a lady are pull her seat out, hold the door, if she is cold give her your coat, etc. old fashion stuff, really.

If you like to chat bring to the local coffee shop but if your nervous and just what to hold her hand then go to a movie.
Things you should do:
1. Hold the door for her
2. Offer to buy her something like a ticket or coffee
3. put your arm around her so she feels protected in your arms
4. Make her laugh
5. Try to seam calm
6. if shes cold give her your jacket
If you do all of these things you justmight be looking at date 2 and a kiss

well dont talk about ur exes unless she brings it up but even if she does look 4 positive things 2 mention about ex even if she was a cow and keep it breif.
listen more then u talk and its called active listening in where u nod ur head, give eye contact, tilt ur head, and ask bak questions that are open ended
be chivalrious but act like it comes naturally 2 u for example hold open the door, compliment her on how she looks, wait for her to be seated before u sit down.
depending on wat type of person she is can depend on where you go avoid loud places like nightclubs because u cant hear her, and theres a chance she might leave wud someone else.
restaurants, parks, amusement parks are good.
dont bring any gifts cause if she's analytically minded she might think your trying to buy her by giving her gifts.
always offer to pay if she says she'll pay then insist on it if she baks down then pay if she doesnt they say u'll split it even.
when talking avoid anything to sad or depressing or just plain boring.
dont act rude to other ppl such as waiters, taxi drivers etc cause theat makes u look like a tool. dont act angry.
then u should be confident but not over confident that u seem arogant.

The best, easiest thing to do would be ask her out to dinner or lunch, can't go wrong with either things, and let her choose the restaurant so you can't screw that part up. And, yes, open the door for her and treat her like a lady. Make sure you have a flower for her when you pick her up, women love that stuff!!!

Some thing to eat or a drink if you're old enough. And then some sort of sport kind of activity like mini golf or ice skating, where you have a chance to talk, but there will be the chance for lots of laughs. Ice cream or coffee after is a nice touch.

Be courteous, respectful, dress appropriate and be attentive; dinner and a movie is always popular for a first date, it gives you time to talk and get to know each other while eating and gives you an insight as to preferences if you let her pick the movie. DON'T take her to McDonald's for dinner!!

dinner, movie, or arcade (if she likes games). if you think she is really into you at the end of the night, hold her hand and walk her to the car. open the car door for her. give her a hug at the end of the nice. if appropriate, kiss her.

you dont want to do anything really like fancy like wear a tux or something
Just maybe a movie date or go over to her house and meet her parents...dress up nice, no gel or anything, just have fun with her and make her laugh, you will go on from there
IF you guys have a quiet moment where you cant think of anything to say just ask her a question
like How's school going or how's your family Most girls will go on and on and on about it
and if you actually LISTEN they LIKE THAT VERY MUCH

Either way, might I suggest rollerblading and pizza? But find a kind of dead place so you can talk without interruptions.
