I am going on a cruise on this ship in Europe this late spring. If you have been on the Grand , what was it like?

The Grand Princess is a wonderful ship. I spent 4 weeks on her in late 2005. The first cruise was a 12 nt Med. and Greek Isles cruise on Sep 23rd. Left from Rome(Civitivecchia) visited, Florence and Pisa(Livorno), Monte Carlo, Naples, Santorini, Mykynos, Athens(Pireaus), Olympia(Katakolon), Corfu and even Ephesus in Turkey, ending up in Venice. Then I flew back to Rome to experience the Transatlantic crossing of 16 days on Nov 10th. It was amazing. The ship again was awesome as were the shows. I love the production shows. Movies uder the Stars is great. They have it on all day too. I thought ht e food was superb. The service and staff very frendly and accommodating. I spend many evenings in Skywalkers(the disco at the back of the ship more that 15 stories up) I would again sail this ship without any hesitations. Enjoy!

The Grand Princess is a very nice ship. When she first came out she was a huge ship at the time, and I believe the largest. It wasn't very long though until the much bigger ships started coming out, then in 2004 we got the Queen Mary 2 and then in 2006 Freedom of the Seas, so now the grand is considered to be a baby compared to the big ships.

Overall, I would say the Grand is a very nice ship. The only thing I would really like to see improved is the food. Princess is a great line for keeping up their older ships, so even though she is 9 years old, Princess has really kept her up quite well.

Cruises to Europe are great as well. I think you will really like the Grand.

Have a great time!

It's actually named the Grand Princess and not the Princess Grand and it's wonderful!

I've been on it on a Caribbean cruise and found the amenities and services to be excellent. The ship is quite large, in fact one of the largest cruise ships around (over 100,000 tons of displacement. Most cruise ships are around 70,000 tons) .

Therefore, your transatlantic crossing should be quite smooth and enjoyable.
