Whoa!!! I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Catholicism is a Christian faith. I think you meant to ask is "Which is more prevalent in England, Catholicism or Protestantism?"

Well, the Church of England is Protestant as is most of the English citizenry. The differences between the two Christian faiths is what has caused most of the internal fighting withing the United Kingdoms. For example, Ireland has been divided between the two for untold years resulting in hundreds upon hundreds of killings. Southern Ireland (basically Catholic) is still fighting for its own voice in Parliament if not short of its ceding from the United Kingdom.

The Church of England is a Protestant denomination of Christianity which was established by King Henry VIII of England. In 1534 he broke away from the Roman Catholic Church with the Act of Supremacy, which declared the king of England to be the head of the Church of England.

The Church of England is a part of the Anglican Church - the term Anglicanus is Latin for "English" and its use first appeared in John Jewel's Apology for the Anglican Church (1562).

I read a report that most Christians in England now days are Catholic. It is gradually turning back around to where the religion that says it is a sin to miss Mass is the one that is growing. If it is not a sin, people won't go, if they don't go they become Spiritually lazy and soon they fall away all together.

England, which is apart of the UK, or United Kingdom, has a state church. This church is the Anglican Church, headed by the leading monarch, the Queen.
Most British people now are Atheists, around 65-70 percent, but if you were to ask which church they affiliated with, it would be the Anglican church.

Thanks for differenciating between the 2. Most people are going to answer you that "Catholics ARE Christians". I don't judge anyone but we all have an obligation to examine churches doctrines and many Catholic doctrines are not Christian or biblical.
