Okay I want to get a new hairstyle. My hair now is short. It goes to the top of my ears and my bangs come a few centimeters above my eyebrows. I want to grow it out to be medium-long, kinda surferish. I have dark brown hair also. My question is this. How long should it take to get to where I want it? What steps should I take to make it look surferish as well?

First, let it grow out a little more. Then go to the barber shop and be sure to get a barber who understands english, and tell him/her you want the surfer look. I would recommend a woman, because even though usually guys like the surfer look, woman have more skillfull hands whereas men have a rough sort of edge to it.

when it gets longer, you wanna cut it in layers or otherwise it will just look like a mophead.
