We should first understand God, who and why of Him. Unless we do that we will only be indulging in the religions as we practice today.

For understanding the supreme personality, we will need to seek the blessings of a saint. We can never ever achieve it by reading, Koran/ Gita or Bible or any othet scripture. That will only bring false sense of pride in us, and we will be bickering unnecessarily with people following other religions.

One who aspires to find a saint, is the real devotee, be him from any religion or faith. He will pray God, because he has understood Him.

I have been following the Art of Living Kriya for the last six years and during the Kriya I automatically end up praying. I have seen that prayer gives strength, peace of mind, tolerance, helps us be assertive, tells us the right from the wrong, courage to do the right. It increases our power to give selfless love.

At times true prayer is not a planned activity. In my case, prayer is sometimes very spontaneous - when I am in trouble automatically I turn to the Supreme Being to tide me out of the bad times - and I have seen that when that cry for help arises from the soul , God does listen and shows a way out. When everything is going on fine my heart always thanks Him for his blessings that he has showered on me.

You got to have faith--- in what ever you do. Same goes here when we pray, there is no god but God.

People cannot take their religion seriously without engaging their bodies, their minds, and their hearts; or their activity, their thinking, and their being.

Faith's inmost core is found only in the heart, and through prayer, we express our quest to be near to God and for God's sake alone to attain peace within.

The prayer helps us connect with God. It brings us closer to GOD. It helps in making God and our relations strong.
Whenever we pray to GOD HE listens it carefully and always lends His Helping Hand
to us.
Sometimes we need not even ask HIM to solve our problem
Prayer helps us get out of the mental stress.
He applies his Cool & Soothening balm which is available nowhere other than his prayer.
