Oh sweetheart... I'm so sorry about your mother's death. And I'm even more sorry that your dad doesn't understand your pain. He's probably still trying to deal with his own. It's so hard not to have a mom around (I know, I lost my mom when I was 17). What this means is that you have to be your own best advocate. You need to get on the phone tomorrow morning and make yourself a doctor's appointment. Ask for a general check-up, but tell them that you are feeling extremely depressed. When you go in to your appointment you are going to have to make sure the doctor REALLY hears you. Speak up and don't be afraid to tell them how sad you are feeling. This is no time to be shy with your doctor, ok? S/he should be able to help you. And be sure to take care of you... eat healthy foods, get some exercise (even if it's just a short walk once a day), keep a journal, and take some extra vitamins (vitamin Bs especially). You're going to be ok. Ok? And listen to Ik above me... she's giving you some additional good advice. Hang in there... we care!!!

hi, it seems as if you r going through a really tough time of it.you don't say how long it is since your mum died. your dad may be going through his own grief at the moment and doesn't feel able to cope with any more emotion. or it could be that you r so low that u don't think you r worth anybodies attention. I would strongly recommend that you see your doctor as soon as possible. They r trained to listen and not be judgmental your doctor will be able to help u . if you have tried to overdose the hospital should be bringing in a councilor or similar body to help you.Do you have any other family who you feel would be happy to listen to you. i don't know what country u r in but I think most developed countries have helplines 24hrs a day which can really help especially in the really hard hours of night time.

You are depressed and need to get some help from a counselor right now. It amazes me that all of these people in your life have done nothing to help you, how sad. Please get some counseling, it sounds to me like the death of your mother may be a contributing factor. Suicide is not the answer and a trained professional can help you work through this. Please contact a counselor.

You sound very depressed. Please know that there are a lot of people out there who cares for you. If you do anything drastic, you are hurting all your love ones.

You need to get help. You need to talk to a counscellor. Ask your friends or your dad to help you get professional help if they do not know what else to do.

In the meantime, educate yourself from reading this reference section on depression

The more you become aware of your condition, the more help you can give to yourself.

Take care! Although I do not know you, you are in my thoughts.

Please, please go to a doctor. You need help. It took me nearly six months to realize my son was depressed. He is now slowly coming off his antidepressants and he is much better. For him the medications helped. We did go to counselling for him as well so try both. Remember this, if you harm yourself how you are feeling now is how you friends and famliy will feel then. Please talk to someone and get some help. As a mum I beg you to do this.
