contraire mon freres-every item is relevant to the total caloric content. especially if the "jelly" is jam or preserves. The calories on a slice of bread can be 35 if there is no flavor which technically you dont need because the pb&j should add all the flavor. and then there is the huge variable-the pb. do you use fresh blended that you do yourself or do you go to the health food store and mix the oil and peanut butter mash every time you use it, how about a super sweet name brand or a flavor and fat full name brand.

there is no magic number honestly-enjoy the sandwich and work out if there is too much fat or too many calories.

Weekend warrior nailed it... the amount of pb&j is the unknown variable bread is 70 cal a slice on average so assuming the same amount of pb&j folded bread is 70 calories less

Well, you can put just as much pb&j in the single slice sandwich and have the same caloric intake minus the calories of one slice of bread.
