Day of Wedding - Rhyme

Despite this rhyme most couples prefer to marry on Saturday.

Monday for wealth.
Tuesday for health.
Wednesday the best day of all.
Thursday for losses.
Friday for crosses.
Saturday for no luck at all.

Sunday, in ancient times was the best day for getting married because most people were free from work.

Do you mean on Sunday? What difference does that make to how good your marriage has been?

Yes, I was married on a Sunday afternoon....it just seemed a good time then to get married....it will be 49 years this October.
But I do not think the day had anything to do with it.

What helped was to wait until marriage for a physical relationship, to have total commitment to marriage, to have the same faith and dependence on God which carried us thru many crisis times, to totally be able to trust the loyalty of the other, to be best friends first, etc.

I was going to get married on a sunday but It didnt work out because the church would not be available till after 4 pm. I figured having the reception after wouldnt be a good idea because it would make it too late of a nite for those who have to go to work the next day. I really wanted to for personal reasons. My fiance's recovery date was july 29 which was a sunday.

I got married on a Sunday-Jewish weddings can't happen during the sabbath, and since we didn't want a Saturday evening wedding, we got married on a Sunday. Our wedding was lovely, and our marrige is strong.

Our marriage is strong though, not because we chose to get married on a Sunday, but because we took the time to make sure that we were compatible, and because we're comitted to making things work with each other. We take the time to remember that we love each other, to work out our differences, and to really make things work between us.
