I have been writing a provesional patent app. ----tyring to do it myself---but it would help if I could accualy see an approved patent for my type of invention so I would know if I'm close to being accurate and meeting the req. of the office

I would say that searching using http://www.google.com/patents is much easier.

If you know of patents similar to what you are looking at you can narrow by patent number, title, inventor, assignee, US or INTL classification, issue or filing dates...

All pages are in searchable/printable PDF format...

Search for a patent by topic (say "DVD player")

Among the listed ones, pick one and read it.

Try also Google patent search. Same idea.
