I got a tattoo 4 days ago. I did the A&D ointment thing for the first 3 days, then this morning, right on schedule, it started scabbing and peeling. I had heard the peeling process lasts two weeks, but it seems like most of it has peeled off already. Will it continue to scab and peel for a while, or is it done once the initial peeling is done? And is it completely healed once that's done? I'm going on vacation in a week and a half...should I stay out of the pool?

mine scabbed and pealed twice, and its not full healed after pealling, once the kin over the tatto appears the same as the skin around it then its healed, usualy takes about three months to be completley heald.

sometimes i peel twice. like on my feet my initial scab will peel and a smaller thinner one will sometimes form in places and come off a few days later. you should definitely stay out of the pool and out of the sun! my artist suggests not getting in standing water for a month after getting a tattoo. your skin still won't be completely healed and there is a chance of bacteria getting into your tattoo.

Its gonna peel. You should be able to use just lotion now, but avoid the pool for at least a month, it'll bleach out the ink. Even if it looks all the way healed, it still needs more time to set fully. Even long showers that make you prune are a bad idea. Unless you get free touch ups, take care of it.

Well if it is done scabbing it should not scab over again. I would still put a little lotion on it. One w/o dyes or scent. When you go on vacation I would stay out of the pool and Always put Sun block on it. You paid good money for it and the sun will make it fade fast!! Have fun where ever you are going.

Don't peel it, or you may take some of your inkwork along with it. Let it drop off on it's own.
