Did he ask me out?

this guy that goes to my college was talking to me about how he was teaching this girl in junior high how to dance and he said that he was looking for someone who would dance with him. Also, a couple of times I was saying that I couldn't get a couple of dance steps and he offered to help me practice them. I am confused, I know that he likes me but I don't know what to do.

the first time we danced together at this dance workshop it was swing dance

you pretty much asked him out.
because you asked him to teach you
thats more or less a date, could be, depends on the scene / scenery
but it could be an amazing date
if there was good food
and music

and depends on the dance ?
salsa ? hot dance, pretty much a date
ballroom ? not too "close", but stilll ok,
etc..etc..
