I've played Marion so let me give you an explanation of where she is in the musical. She's been single her whole life, she's a librarian, she has been avoiding men for years because she wants someone who appreciates Shakespeare and Beethoven and who just wants a few nice things. When Harold comes into her life, she does not trust him and believes he is out to hurt her. At this point (almost to the end of the show), she's decided to hide a piece of evidence that would expose Harold as a fake. Harold doesn't know this and when she's singing this song with him (it is a duet in fact) she has already fallen for him......she's never experienced anything like this in her life. She's also an 'older' woman in the musical. It's a very big moment for this character. DON'T even go near the Beatle's recording. Paul does a lovely job but they didn't write the song. He sings it wonderfully out of context. Break a Leg!

Just think of what the words mean - and sing as though you mean what you're mouthing.

Good luck.

Make sure your sheet music is marked and in your key. KNOW YOUR WORDS! Think about what you're singing about.
Sell that song! (And break a leg...)
