My Church has three services a week and I know a few around here that have 4 a week but then again I do live in the bible belt. Tennessee.

Well, I suppose we could sit around and guess at the legal definition of "assembling of ourselves together" ... does it mean a formal service, or just a few Christians sitting around and sharing the Word ... but I'm guessing that either you need to change to a more active church, or perhaps your religion does not endorse such gatherings as being worthy of "assemblage".

For my church, there is Sunday morning worship (the formal one), there is Sunday night worship services (a bit more informal, and the teens sing sometimes). There is Wednesday night service (folks wear jeans), as well as several groups that meet during the week. Choir on Tuesdays, bible study on Thursday night at a deacon's house, whatever lol.

Seriously, consider changing, there can be so many ways to get involved :)

Depends on the type of church you want... mega churches can have up to 5 or 6 services a week (a midweek service, one or two on Saturday, and two or three on Sunday)... smaller churches will have 2 to 3 services a week.

Sometimes it's hard to get people to meet other times during the week. My church has Sunday services and Wednesday services and will soon be adding care groups which will make it 3 times a week.

Your observation is a good example of how Paul was really writing personal letters to his friends. Not necessarily his words, but your observations of how some Churches do meet 3 to 6 times per week. (Sunday school, Sunday sermon, Sunday night services, Tuesday nigh supper and then visitation to people in community, Wednesday night Prayer Meeting - which was really just another Sermon with Prayer requests at the end, and then of course Thursday Night Choir Practice - with non- Choir members attending for baby-sitting and moral support.)

Ironically, "Jesus Attended Church (synagogue?) only one hour per week, which was his custom".

How can we love our neighbors, or simply help our neighbors, when we spend so much time in Church?

Because it is getting late and dark out here. The churches are there, pray God leads one to you. But remember one of the things to happen in the last days is that there will be so many wrong churches preaching a different christ that the true way would be "evil spoken of". Don't fall into a worldly church and get "religionized". btw, we attend at least 5 times a week.

Most Christian churches have services on Sunday mornings and on Wednesday evenings.
I sure miss going to service on Sunday night also.
A lot of churches have gotten just plain lazy. The people who are members claim that they are too busy to attend more than one service a week. Some folks feel that all they need to do is attend on Sunday morning and God will take care of the rest of the week.

Most services are held twice on Sunday and once on Wednesday. It is up to the elders of any congregation to decide the times to meet other than the given Sunday times. It is good to have a Bible Study period on Wednesday or any other night for that matter but generally it is held on Wednesday night. We are to study God's word as well as to hear the word taught unto us. It is almost crucial to have other time periods devoted to Bible study if we are to understand God's will for our lives.

I'm a little confused....does the verse mention services three times a week.

None-the-less I believe it is a good idea.....we always need to encourage each other especially as the day of God is approaching.

Are people too busy though?
