Everyone interprets the Bible differently, right?
So why was Charles Manson so wrong in his interpretation? (No obvious answers please, I'm looking for something a little deeper then "murder is wrong")
Who REALLY knows that what Manson "believed" isn't what God intended?

Wef, from what I've seen on here, it appears that many have their own interpretations of the Bible.
I'm not saying Manson was right in his thinking, I was just interested to hear people's thoughts.
No need to insult me or my thinking. I just enjoy reading people's thoughts on here and I thought I would get some interesting answers, that's all.

If Manson followed the bible which there is really no such thing you really don't have wonder how he went wrong when his source of direction is a book that has been changed.
God gave Moses a message it was Gods word and it is called the Torah and he gave Jesus a message and it was called the Injil. Do some research, it is easy you are already on the internet.

At the moment I am studying Hermeneutics which is how to interpret the Bible. One of the things I've been learning is that everything needs to be compared in scripture with scripture. Things that are patterns for us to be followed will be repeated and things that are just descriptive, won't....and that's just the short version....there are lots more questions that you need to ask, and find the genre and if things are literal or figurative....what was the author trying to say? etc.
From what I know of Charles Manson, he didn't study the Bible or look for why things were said.
I think those of us who have studied the Bible KNOW that murder was not part of God's plan for our lives.

The Bible says that the scriptures are for not for private interpretation. They were Spiritually breathed, they were Spiritually written, and they must be Spiritually discerned!! To get the Holy Ghost like they they did in Acts 2:4, 10:45-46, 19:6, follow what is written in Acts 2:38!!! Mark 16:17.

Yes that is a sign, everyone interpreting,The Bible, differently, The lord tells you through His words, their will come aday, when they want be able to here of my words, and their will be no meaning in my words to the ones that cant not here what it is The lord is saying, so when some one interprets the Bible as wrong, and not knowing right from wrong, their will be this havoc...A person like Charles Manson was so demon possessed,By Satan, He Man son, was one of the ones, that heard dark, seen dark, and lives in the darkness of demons, Satan's followers ......He is of the Anti Christ, And all that are of God and is of light knows this..because the words of the Lord tells us this...And God don't intend nothing of Dark, ones self, brings own ones self, what is intend, And the priest of the world should no this but it seems to go UN-noticed for some very strange reason...People Like Manson needed to be exorcism...Gods intent for someone was to live by His words and Not Satan's, And to do His will not Satan's, If it is of wrong and any wrong is in it, It is of darkness,Satan, If it is of good and their is light in it ,it is of God, Satan sat out to destroy Manson and Manson Allowed Him to...You have to fight for what is right every day of our life's, and not give in to the wrong of the world...Manson intent was to serve Satan, Not God, God bless the USA and Israel

Everyone interprets the Bible differently - wrong!
The only true interpreter of the Bible is the Author of the Bible - the Holy Spirit.
Unless we have the Holy Spirit we cannot understand the Bible.
The Bible says to believers:
"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things freely given to us by God."
(I Corinthians 2:12)
Actually, the Bible isn't intended for unbelievers, but for believers.
If you are an unbeliever, God really has only one thing to say to you: "Repent, and believe the Gospel."
After you've complied, God will begin dealing with you.

God can not and does not lie. We all play by the same set of rules. What's legal, good, and right for you is the same for me and is the same for Manson. If I stole a car got caught, told the Police that God told me to do it and God said it was okay, should they believe me? If a person claimed the same as you are asking, it would mean that anybody could do anything they wanted to (lie, steal, kill, etc.) and never be reprimanded or punished for it. If a person feels that he/she is being told to do something that is sinful & wrong might be true BUT, it isn't God telling them

Because you're not supposed to just follow the parts of the Bible that rationalize your thinking. You're supposed to study all of it, question any contradictions you might find, and use your common sense. Manson obviously ignored the 'thou shalt nor kill' part.

What a warped idea. Manson listened to the voices in his head, not God.
