Should United States goverment policy favor certains kinds of immigrants?

Should citizenship preference be given to the neediest applicants? The most talented? The most oppressed? The richest?

Should applications from certain coutries to given priority?

it shouldbe done based on what we need here..... if we need a lawyer......then first coem first serve..........or if we need a fruit picker ......first come first serve......oh_hell

right now the richest are given priority. if you have 100,000 dollars to invest in a company, you can come over right away (minus the processing times of coure) and we already give priority to tourists as well....if you notice the list of countries that participate in the visa waiver program....they are all "white" countries, minus successful asian countries such as Japan. citizenship preference is already given to spouses and children first, and then other family members going down the line of importance.

lots of the ideas you mentioned are already in place.

I'd rather that than uneducated people who come and break the law. You'd think the government would want more doctors and lawyers in this country, but it seems the most they are letting in are drugdealers, and criminals. Waiting time for them = none.
