Just got mine rebuilt for my 1995 nissan maxima and it cost me about 3100 dollars ouch huh? BUT IN THE LONG RUN ITS WORTH IT .

The cost can range from around $1500 and up, depending on the amount of parts that need exchanged. I had my Ford Aerostar transmission in for a rebuild and it ran me $1700 but they only needed to replace a few parts in it.

As another person indicated, you might be better off looking around at a junk yard to find a used transmission, especially if you can install it yourself. I did that for a 1985 Sentra a while back and the cost was about $350 (plus fluids and some vacation time from work). I put about 70,000 miles on that transmission before the rest of the car started to fall apart on me.

It would be a lot cheaper to buy a good used one out of a wreck.A rebuilt would be in the area of three grand.
