I recommend White Maple. It has the smoothest, tightest grain I know of, and was always the wood used in my school gymnasiums.

Most professional or school gyms use Maple. It gives a nice smooth finish that light colored (another feature you want).

u want to get the fake wood. i have real wood in my house and i have only had it for three months and it already has scratches al over. my neighbors have had fake wood in their house for five years and they have a baby and a dog and it has no scratches.
