Understanding Strep Throat
What Are the Symptoms?
The symptoms of strep throat include:
Sore throat that comes on rapidly.
Fever, sometimes greater than 102° F.
Back of the throat that is raw and red.
White pus on tonsils.
Tender, high lymph nodes in neck.
Absence of cough, stuffy nose, or other upper-respiratory symptoms.
Although by definition strep throat is caused by the Streptococcus pyogenes bug, other bacteria can occasionally invade the throat and cause similar symptoms. Other possible invaders: staphylococcus, neisseria, and Haemophilus influenzae.
People usually develop strep throat when their immune systems are not functioning at their peak. Stress, overwork, exhaustion, and fights with viral infections can weaken the body's defenses and set up attacks of strep throat. And like other throat infections, strep throat also tends to occur during the colder months.

That's what I thought I had 2 weeks ago... The pain in my throat was like a knife pain every time I swallowed. I could barely talk. I just got it and needed help fast. Then I found the cure online from EarthClinic.com.
I followed a cure for a sore throat and it worked using cayenne pepper and apple cider vinegar. I was skeptical but desperate since I was on the verge of getting the flu and this web site saved me.
Basically the answer is apple cider vinegar. This kills bacteria and viruses as well as boost the immune system. The cayenne pepper took the pain out of the sore throat and cleared my sinuses. Also very good as a virus killer.
I made a tea with these two and added honey (another amazing ingredient) and lemon for it's vitamin C content, added an enchinacia tea bag and wow what a miracle!
Your nose won't be stuffy and your sore throat will be gone after drinking that tea. It truly is amazing! It tastes good too!
This is my tea:
1 cup boiling hot water
Sprinkle a nice amount of cayenne pepper (very important!)
1 tsp (organic unfiltered if possible) apple cider vinegar (very important!)
1 tbp honey
squeeze about 10 drops of juice from a lemon
add a herbal tea bag for taste (Traditional Medicinals Tea is excellent)
You will feel better with the first cup and possibly cured by the fourth.

Strep usually has a painful red throat and often little white dots. Keep treating your symptoms.
Try a saline nasal RINSE (not a spray) A full warm water saline rinse goes in one nostril and out the other. It draws out all the gunk and shrinks the tissue (like swimming in the ocean). I've been doing it at work too.
The buffered salt doesn't 'sting' as much as plain salt water. You can use a new method like Nasopure, or the vintage, Netipot. The special bottle and salt is about $20.
You can do this a often as you like with no bad side effects.
You don’t need a prescription for this therapy. So if you live in a state like mine, they’ve pretty much “outlawed” sudafed medicine. Drug-free is really the way to go on a frequent-use basis.

The main thing to look for would be little white spots on your tonsils you could easily see them if you look with a flashlight at the back of your throat. Also, a big symptom with strep is a fever generally speaking people usually say if your symptoms are with a fever it is bacterial, and if there is no fever it is viral, but not always

May be only a minor viral infection. Sore throat is usually due to a viral infection. Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

Possibly. The only way to know for sure is to see your healthcare provider and get a rapid strep test or a throat culture.

The others are right about seeking a simple throat culture. But, just so you know, when I had strep I K-N-E-W I had something, because I couldn't even swallow my spit without awful pain!
I hope you are well soon.

It probably could be, but it could be a virus of the flu or anything else. Why not check with your doctor and he'll be able to help you. I hope that you feel better soon.
