female cats will remain in heat UNTIL they mate (or get spayed/fixed)-- which the mating process and the spines or barbs on the males penis (stimulates pain) and causes the female to ovulate -- once they ovulate the heat is over (and the only way to ovulate is to mate in cats).
however i do NOT suggest she mate-- instead- if you get her spayed it will eliminate the hormones.
** But i would definately ask the vet if they are 'comfortable' doing a spay when the cat is in heat as it can be more risky. Some vets at 'low cost" high volume spay clinics do them ALL DAY IN HIGH numbers so they may say they are MORE comforatble doing it at this time. If not, you might have to wait it out. please ask the vet who will preform the surgery.
it is 'heat season' right now.

Not really much, unless you are prepared to get her a male companion. The meowing is your cat's way of calling for a mate. You won't be able to get her to shut up, unless you find her a mate or let her find one, not good unless you want more cats. The season should last for about a few days to a week or even more, and when it is over, you should go to your vet and have her spayed.

OK, your cat is 6 months old or more and you have figured out she is in heat by her meowing and rolling around and crying. Cats go into heat for 3 weeks then go out, BUT they go back into heat until they are impregnated, so I think you should have your cat spayed!!! She isn't going to shut up until she is out of heat or spayed. If she goes out of heat, she will come back in. I hope I helped you answered you question.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE get her spayed! There are hundreds of thousands of unwanted cats out there, and we don't need anymore. Even if you always keep her in the house, get her spayed anyway to make sure there are no accidents ever. If you really want kittens in the future, adopt them, there are always kittens in need of homes. So please get your cat spayed. As far as heat goes, there really is nothing you can do right now. She's gonna act like a skank for a couple of weeks until she gets through it, but then you've only got about a 3 week window in there to get her spayed, so make sure to call your vet right away. If seeing her in heat isn't enough to make you want to get her spayed, do some research on the benefits of spaying your cat. In the long run, it leaves you with a healthier, happier cat.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is anything you can do. Cats are not trainable when it comes to their biology. It's in there nature. Get the cat fixed and then you won't have this problem anymore.

You can't. If she gets out, and gets pregnant, you could find her having kittens in about 63 days. Please, call the vet, or a low cost clinic (vet) and get her spade-asap! Take care.
