ok, so I've been liking this one guy for a while(really funny, knows just what to say)well a few weeks ago, there was this winter dance at school and I was having fun dancing with my friends(he would come around occasionaly to say hi and dance for a while) we slow danced a few times, and he asked me out, I told him I would think about it. the next day he asked me again and I told him yes, but then he told me that he would like to get to know me better before we sart dating, what does this mean? you are right that is confusing, if you like him like that then you should peruse him. maybe there is something there, if you feel uncomfortable then go on with your life and leave him alone.

He wants to know about you if you call him on the phone play 20 questions and ask him one he asks you one then he should feel better tell him that you are very excited about the relationship and that you like him alot . . I hope this helps!

It means he just wants to go out with you to get to know you
better before you start calling it "dating". He wants to hang out
with you, talk, laugh, etc. with no pressure to be "your boyfriend"
at first. No big deal, just go and have fun.
