Yes, I think so, very much! In the US, even the smallest and poorest of people can take on the government and win. You don't have to have a degree in law, just the name of a lawyer who works on commission. If you can't find one to help you, the government will provide one for you for free.

Take a look at Anna Nicole Smith. Obviously not the brightest bulb in the box, she was able to have her case heard by the highest judicial office in the land; she won.

Is democracy good? It's the best man has been able to come up with so far. Does democracy work? Yes, but only because despite what the media tells you, there are some good people in our government who honestly do want to help.

Another good thing is we don't have to worry about a coup or a revolution; Americans are too individually independent in their thinking (because of democracy) to ever just follow the crowd in a situation like that. We would simply refuse to listen lol.

I say thee nay. Democracy is not a good formof govenrment, neither a true democracy (which doesn't exist anywhre the I am aware of) or a representative democracy (like we have here in the US). The ONLY viable form of government is a Theocratic Anarchy. This is a form of government where people are governed solely and wholly by the dictates of their religious bleife and NO other authority. It means that no one can interfere in ANY way with the actions of any other individual unless they are followers of the same religion. It means that NO idea, belief action or activity can be interfered with or prohibited as long as it is part of a religious practice, no matter what that religion is.

Yeah it is a good form of government. I'm not into politics and government stuff much but I know that one thing we can learn from history is not to give the power of the country to one person only. With the checks and balance system we make sure that one branch or person does not have all the power. Which is kinda ironic how much we blame Bush for things when really there are bunch of people approving his action before he can really execute anything.

I'm getting off track kinda. But yeah democracy is the better of the goverment in voicing the people and letting the people take control than one person.

LOL. Unless you hit a spare key, your views are pretty obvious.

Democracies work for small groups over short time periods. But they are a poor form of gov't. Consider: Five people on an island. Four men and a woman. They take a vote as to whether or not to rape the woman. Motion passes 4 to 1.

Does the woman consider democracy a good gov't form?

Demoncracy sounds like the government of the demon.

To the winning party. But fortunately the losing party becomes the alternative government and watchdog of the people who articulate the interests of the minority and majority alike in hope of gaining more votes to form the next government.

Well, democracy is better than tyranny by far.

I'd rather vote for by leader through democracy than have a leader forced upon me. I also find it unfair that in monarchies the eldest son takes up the job--it's better to vote for whoever is the best leader.

Definitely yes.
It is no longer the time of individual, family or partisan leadership.
Now is the time for all individuals among the mature humanity to contribute their thoughts, words and actions through civilized institutions for the progress and happiness of this rational race.

Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the other forms that have been tried.
