There is a World Trade Centre in Melbourne situated on the Northbank of the Yarra river. Google world trade centre melbourne.

I've never heard of a World Trade Centre here. If there was, I am sure its name would have been changed after what happened to the New York prototype.

There is a World Square in the middle of the city, which is just a mall filled with designer stores. It doesn't host the offices of any significant businesses though.

Yes indeed... its full of Govt departments on the corner of Flinders and Spencer streets in Melbourne.
