I am 16 years old and my sis is 18. I weigh 155 and she weighs 279 pounds. We are starting to diet and exercise.
We eat healthy now! (lots of salads and water) We are taking a diet pill called Cylaris. We exercise twice a day. We dont eat candy or drink soda or have really any sugar. The question is how much do you think we can lose at the end of week 8? Give two answers for both ppl!
P.S Do you have any advice about how we can lose more or anything about exercising? We dont need crap about the diet pill. That part is an experiment!

well, you might lose since you're both working relly hard on diet and exercise , you might lose about 45-55 pounds and your sister might lose about 80-90 pounds. its just approximate!

Good Luck!

all you need is willpower!

It all depends on how much exercise you are getting and how many calories you are eating per day.

If you get 45min-60min of good, heart pounding, sweat breaking exercise 5-6 times per week and eat 1500-1700 calories per day it's possible to loose 3-5 pounds per week. Some weeks you may even loose more than 5 pounds. The key is making sure you are really getting good exercise. If you skimp on the exercise, your weightloss will decreas dramatically to roughly 2 pounds per week. It is healthy to loose 5 pounds per week, as long as you are doing it through lots of exercise and a proper diet.

To answer your question- it's totally possible to loose anywhere from 25-40 pounds total in 8 weeks if you are dedicated. This goes for both you and your sister. If you both start out at the same fitness level and start eating the same foods, your weightloss will be close to each other.

Good luck and stay dedicated!!!! Just remember, it's only 8 weeks of hard work that you are committing yourself to. If you hate it, stop after the 8 weeks but don't give up early!!

Radically changing your diet will cause you to gain weight. You will get tired of eating things that you don't like and fall off the wagon and gain back more than you've lost. "Dieting", per se, does not work.

The best way to become less heavy (as opposed to losing weight), is to eat normally. You can eat beef, ice cream, bread, rice, and lard by the spoonful, if you don't eat too much of it. Eat smaller portions of whatever food you like, and don't have seconds. Take half of what you used to eat, then wait 20 mins before getting any more. It takes that long for your stomach to tell your brain that you've had enough. That's why people get fat in the first place; they eat until they are full, then it's too late.

A sedentary person (like bedridden) needs 10 calories per pound to stay that weight. At 155, you must take in 1550 calories if you stayed in bed all day. Anything less, and you'd lose weight. Your sister is consuming well over 3000 (probably 4-5000) calories per day. If you eat 2000 calories and she eats 3000 and you both excercise, you will lose weight until you get down to a certain weight, and that's where you'll stay at that intake. To lose more, you just reduce more.

Drastically reducing your intake will not make you lose weight any faster. If you do it as a gradual reduction and increase your activity, you are more likely to change your habits over the long run and maintain a desired weight than if you go on a crash diet.

BTW, no one on here can tell you how much you are going to lose. There are way to many factors to consider. Anyone who tries is blowing smoke up yourass, telling you what happened to them, or just plain guessing.
